"How Cancer Saved my Life”

IN JUNE 1997. I’d been through two operations and numerous consultations and although I was convinced in my heart that I had cancer of my penis, the doctors were not able to commit themselves. The first operation had been the removal and biopsy of the tumour in my left groin, the second was the circumcision that revealed the extent of the disease on the gland. Only after two weeks of extensive tests, the doctors came to the same conclusion as me, which convinced me that I had an important role to play in my own destiny.

"I was told of the seriousness of the condition and that I was to undergo an intense course of radio and chemotherapy. The only way that I would know that I had survived to the following year would be if I was still alive. If I did survive, I would be infertile. By mid-June, I did not feel up to what was being suggested. I thought it might finish me off. Then I stumbled upon an article “Hope for Cancer Sufferers” which discussed the benefits of “Essiac”. I was uplifted by the arrival of my first package of the four herbs and enjoyed preparing the tea.

The hospital consultants then decided to put me on Interferon and although the side effects were unpleasant, I was taking the “Four Herb Tea” which gave me strength. The possibility of amputation of my penis was regularly being suggested in consultations. At the end of August, a huge – volcanic-like swelling took me to Accident and Emergency, which resulted in a serious operation on the glands in my left groin.

Now the surgeon advised me that amputation was the only way forward. But I found the confidence to refuse further surgery and opt for the radiotherapy and chemotherapy. This gave me time at least to keep myself in one piece. Even with cancer, there is always time. Towards the end of September, 1997, when buying my ESSIAC herbs I came across a cream containing these ESSIAC herbs to apply to my groin and penis. My medical herbalist, Jenny, helped me to further develop my belief that my experience of cancer was an opportunity for personal growth and that it was possible to take responsibility for myself and my own health. Although I decided against the surgery, I agreed to chemotherapy and radiotherapy and the Four Herbs helped me through this, so that apart from tiredness, I suffered no side affects and over a period of less than a year, all signs and symptoms gradually and completely disappeared to the amazement of the entire medical team.

After surviving the experience, against all medical predictions, everyone, including the consultants and my GP want to know “does it still work?” The answer is that “I have wonder and joy back in my life”.

However long I am to be around, I have an entirely new approach to life.

Now five years later, I have been officially pronounced clear of cancer by the astonished medical team, who over the intervening years, had expected my cancer to reoccur. I give thanks to the wonderful herbs, proteins and amino acids contained in the Four Herb Cream."
